The films are being screened at the Chan Centre's Royal Bank Cinema (6265 Crescent Road). "A Shine of Rainbows" will be followed by a Question & Answer session with director Vic Sarin.

At the Quinte Hotel
A film by Megan Easton, animated by Bruce Alcock. About Al Purdy, Art (capital A) and Drinking (capital D). "It was brought home to me in the tavern/that poems will not really buy beer or flowers/or a goddam thing/and I was sad/for I am a sensitive man."
Time: 3:30 minutes.
A Shine of Rainbows
Directed by Vic Sarin and written by Sarin and Catherine Spear, based on the novel by Lilian Beckwith. The film, a drama, has been chosen to open the Vancouver International Film Festival on October 1, on the night before our screening.
Time: 101 minutes.
