Questions and Answers

What inspired “December, Glasgow”?

This poem was written during my first winter in Scotland. I had moved from Vancouver to do a Masters in Creative Writing at the University of Glasgow. It was near Christmas; I was standing on Glasgow’s Buchanan Street looking down at the stream of shoppers.

What poetic techniques did you use in “December, Glasgow”?

I focus on using soft sounds and the occasional internal rhyme.
