We pay tribute to his life full of accomplishment. The eighth University Librarian at UBC and tireless supporter of Canadian letters, he was one of the founders of Canadian Literature and its first circulation manager.

What is the nature of the attraction of one artist to another artist’s aesthetic? In two of these three books of poetry by Canadian women, writers take up another artist’s work as their guiding principle, translating visual art into written text or moving archaic thematics into a contemporary mode.
