There are clearly times when a subject demands difficult or new phrasing, and inelegance naturally results. Traumatic Pasts, a new anthology subtitled "History, Psychiatry and Trauma in the Modern Age," is sprinkled with a few "embeds" here, a "cross-cultural approach" there, a "privilege his methods" over yonder.
