D.A.F. de Sade et Hubert Aquin : le récit au pied du mur

Prenant Prochain épisode d'une main et Les Cent vingt journées de Sodome de l'autre, je propose une lecture comparée du thème de la claustration dans son rapport à l'écriture narrative. S'ancrant d'abord dans la justification biographique — Sade embastillé; Aquin interné — l'analyse s'attarde surtout au procès de sublimation de l'isolement que la dynamique du récit met en scène. Il s'agit de reconnaître la prison comme un espace de confrontation des énergies antagonistes que le Désir de la Loi saisit dans le corps du pouvoir. Si la main prisonnière donne une voix à la force carcérale qui l'enserre dans les limites de l'interdit, elle énonce aussi l'impulsion désirante que la loi vient réorganiser sous la bannière du crime et de la violence transgressive. L'exigence d'une maîtrise subversive du discours dominant se dessine alors. La réussite discursive de Sade à cet égard sert ici d'éclairage historique à l'échec narratif qu'Aquin développe dans son premier roman publié.
