Payment options
Credit (Visa & MasterCard)
Credit card payments are handled by the University of British Columbia’s Digital Payment Program, a secure way to make credit card purchases online.
As a department of UBC, Canadian Literature is compliant with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS), which ensures that we are up to date with international guidelines on financial security.
Please do not send your credit card details by email or email attachment. UBC prohibits the receipt of this information by email, so any email containing credit card information that is not blocked will be deleted unopened.
Individual subscribers must pay by a personal credit card or cheque and must provide a personal delivery address. The reselling of personal subscriptions is prohibited. Proof of personal status may be requested.
Cheque
All cheques should be made payable to “UBC Canadian Literature.” Cheque payments for all subscriptions must be in either Canadian or US Dollars (CAD/USD) and drawn on a North American bank.
Cancellations, refunds, and claims
Subscriptions are considered final orders. There is no refund for cancellation once payment has been processed.
However, any issues that arrived damaged are covered by our claims policy. Please contact us with photos of the damaged issue and we will send you a replacement copy.
We allow one replacement issue per calendar year. Claims should be made within one year of the publication date.
Activating digital subscriptions
Digital individual subscriptions provide 1-year online access to all our published issues via Open Journal Systems (OJS). The start date of digital subscriptions begins upon confirmation of payment (not issue-based).
If you are a new OJS user, you can create an OJS account to access your online subscription. Once you have an account, you can include your OJS username at checkout. Canadian Literature will send a confirmation email 1-3 business days after payment is received in full and will activate your 1-year subscription access to the specified OJS account.
We do not offer online subscriptions to institutions or agents at this time. Institutions who wish to access our journal online must contact the databases EBSCO, ProQuest, or Gale to coordinate subscription.
