L. Camille van der Marel

L. Camille van der Marel (settler) is an Assistant Professor in Canadian literatures at MacEwan University in amiskwacîwâskahikan. Her writing on Dionne Brand’s Theory was largely undertaken during her four years as an LTA at Dalhousie University’s English department, located in Kjipuktuk. Like her teaching, her research relies on anticolonial theory, Indigenous knowledge, and ecocriticism and works to understand CanLit as an academic field, a nation-building project, and a cultural industry.
